Christmas Gift Cards

This year I gave my teenage niece and nephew gift cards for Christmas.  I have discovered this allows them to get something they want which is usually quite different to what I think they might like.

I made each of them a gift card in the form of a waterfall card using the stamp set Holiday Lineup.  I just love the characters in this stamp set and although it requires a bit of colouring the final product is well worth it.

The first card used the Christmas Elves with each one saying a short message.  This meant I only had to colour the elf that was speaking on each section of the card.  As you pulled down the card the full message was revealed.

The second card used the Snowmen and worked in the same way. 

The gifts were well received and everyone was happy.

Desk Organiser

My apologies for the lack of new material on this blog over the past couple of months.  Life became quite hectic in November when my Dad as diagnosed with cancer. He is now undergoing treatment and although not "fixed" he is much better.

I now have some time to post a range of projects which I have completed over the past 3 months for you to have a look at.  The first is a Desk Organiser which is a Kaiser Craft product.

 My sister and I spent some time putting these together using the Designer Series Paper, Paisley Petals. All the paper is from the same set but combined to make 2 very different colour schemes.


This was another "off the page" project which I learnt about while I was down in Bright in October. I am looking forward to trying some more.

Merry & Bright Album

A couple of weeks ago I showed you an album I made while I was on holidays in Bright, Victoria.

I have now had time to recreate this album using Stampin' Up products.  I have used the DS paper "Letters to Santa" which I think is quite amazing.  I have finally worked out what to do with the larger patterns and this particular paper worked brilliantly on a "scrap booking" type project.

The only other products used were Rhinestones and a small amount of cardstock edged with various border punches.

I intend using this album to display photos of our family Christmas gathering this year.

Name Cards

My friend Greta asked if I would be happy to make some name cards for some little people who are going to a wedding in November.

The wedding has a rainbow theme so I put together these sparkly name cards.  Each card will go on top of a box full of food and games for the children to enjoy on the day.

What a great idea for entertaining small people at a wedding or any other event of the kind.

Brithday cards for my nieces

The month of October means two birthdays in the family.  My nieces, Melissa & Olivia celebrated their birthdays during the past couple of weeks.

As time was of the essence I made two identical cards and sent them on their way to Queensland and NSW respectively.

The cards I made were Swing Cards - a style I have made many times over and I never cease to be amazed at the different effects created each time.  I used the Nature Walk stamp set and some retired DSP that matched.  Colour scheme was Old Olive and Certainly Celery.

Festive Memories Album

I have recently spent some time in Bright, Victoria and while I was there I met Cindy who runs a fantastic scrapbooking shop in the town.

She sells kits and projects and I had the time to create this fantastic album with her in her shop. This project is not made with Stampin' Up products but I have bought the craftwood bases to make another album using the "Letters to Santa" DS paper when I get time at home.

I really enjoyed spending time with a new group of people who love papercraft and making wonderful projects. It certainly took me outside my comfort zone and into a whole new world of 3D creations.

I am looking forward to playing with some of the other materials and projects I bought from Cindy's shop.

Christmas Cards

At the moment I have only limited supplies available for my card making so I am working on making as many Christmas cards as I can for my "Sale" boxes.

I have been using the "Season of Joy" stamp set and my leftover Christmas DS paper from last year's catalogue and so far have created the designs you see here.

It is challenging not being able to turn around and pick up the punch or stamp set you want but it is pushing me to think of as many different options as I can for my collection.

This year's Christmas Designer Series Paper

This year's Christmas Designer Series paper is called "Letters to Santa". When I first saw it I wasn't sure how I was going to work with non-traditional colours for my Christmas projects but now that I have I am pleased to say I really like this set of paper.

It uses the colours Riding Hood Red, Old Olive, Marina Mist, Early Espresso, Blushing Bride and Whisper White.  It also coordinates with the stamps sets "Merry & Type" and "Winter Post".


I have added some photos showing how I have used the various papers from the Designer Series pack. All of these Christmas cards and projects appear in others posts showing what we will be doing at the various workshops leading up to Christmas.

December Stamp-A-Stack

Our December Stamp-A-Stack (SAS) will be held on Saturday 10 December from 2.00pm - 5.00pm.

This will be the last opportunity to add to your Christmas Card collection.  We will be making four cards using the ornament stamp from the new stamp set "Merry and Type".  These are quite sparkly with lots of Dazzling Diamonds added to them.

The second set of four cards are in a patchwork design using DS paper.

The cost of the SAS is $20.00 which includes all the resources needed to make 8 cards with matching envelopes and afternoon tea.

November Stamp-A-Stack

Christmas Project Class

On Sunday 27 November I will be holding a Christmas Project Class. 

We will be making a Christmas Box that can be used as a present to give to friends.  It is big enough to hold treats and small gifts.

The other project will be a swing card which is completely reversible with touches of Dazzling Diamonds to make it sparkle.

The class will be held from 2.00 pm - 5.00 pm and will cost $20.00.
