Stamp Club - Saturday 2 April

Our next Stamp Club for my regular Stamp Club girls will be held on Saturday 2 April 2.00pm - 5.00pm.  At this gathering we will be making a variety of cards using Wheels both big and small.  We will be making the 4 cards shown here.  Cost for this gathering will be $10.00.

If anyone else is interested in doing a workshop based on Wheels and isn't a member of my Stamp Club, I am happy to arrange to run this class again on a day that suits.  Please contact me to discuss options for time and date and we will take it from there.

Technique Class - Using Vellum

At my next technique class we will be looking at different ways to use vellum as an overlay.  I have included some of the cards I have made recently, one placing the vellum over a stamped image (Baroque Motif flourish) and the others running the vellum through the Big Shot.

This class will be held on Saturday 26 February from 2.00pm -5.00pm and there are still some places available.  Cost is $10.00.

If you would like to book in please call me on 6251 4346 or send me an email and I will put your name down.

Birthday Bakery

Here is another stamp set I have been looking forward to trying out.  "Birthday Bakery" is a stamp set you can get free as a hostess gift if you host a party and have sales of over $300.

I have made this card to give to one of my new stamping recruits.  She is also a friend from my calligraphy class but I can't say anymore right now as her birthday party is a big surprise and I would hate to spoil it!

I have used the new in-colour "Pear Pizazz" as well as "Old Olive" and Daffodil Delight" as the colour themes for this card.  It was fun to make and the options are endless for both the style of card and what you can do with this particular set of cakes.

Below is a card I made using the same stamp but only inking half at a time (with a "Basic Black" marker) and positioning the stamp the second time with my Stamp-a-ma-Jig.  This time I included some "Night of Navy" trim.

Loads of Love and its Accessories

Towards the end of last year I bought the Loads of Love and Accessories stamp sets but have only just had time to get them out and use them.   What fun they are!!!!  There are so many possibilities to create cards to suit specific occasions.

These stamp sets use the "2 step stamping" process which is made so easy when using the Stamp-a-ma-jig.  They are also great to explore colour options using markers, watercolours or pastels.
I will be exploring other options with these stamp sets with my Stamp Club girls this month.

I also made these little tags that can be attached to Easter gifts using the Accessories stamp set, an idea I took from the Stampin' Up Catalogue

Vellum Overlay Cards

Below is a card I have made using the Vellum Overlay technique.  We will be making a version of this card at the Technique Class to be held on Saturday 26 February.

This design was orginally CASEd from Ngaire Anderson, then from my sister Denise who CASEd the idea from Marelle Taylor.

Each card has a vellum overlay, which gives a lovely soft effect.
The stamp sets used are Because I Care - hostess set but could be adapted for many other stamp sets.

New Chocolate Wallet

This is a new Chocolate Wallet I have cased from Marelle Taylor and then my sister Denise.
It is so easy to make. You can make them using just half a sheet of 12x12 DSP and 2 Top Notes.
Just fold up one edge of the DSP about 10cm to form a pocket. Then fold it in half and half again, accordian-style. Put some adhesive to separate the individual pockets (I used SNAIL on the inner fold and Sticky Strip on the 2 outside "open" edges). I might try Sticky Strip on all next time as I didn't feel the SNAIL held very well. Then stick a Top Note to the front and back, tie it closed with a ribbon and decorate as desired. I put the 2 Top Notes through the Big Shot with embossing folders to add some texture.
You can put anything you like into the pockets, gift vouchers, fancy tea bags, I used chocolates which I purchased from Aldi, called "Moser Roth" $2.49 for a pack of 5 chocolates. You only need 4 for the wallet, so you can treat yourself whilst making the wallet!!

"Thank You" Card

I put together this simple "Thank You" card for my sister to thank her and her family for having us stay over Christmas.  I have used the "Pendant Park" stamp set and a sentiment from "Fresh Cut" stamp set.  The background colour is Cajun Craze which could soon become my next favourite colour.

Birthday Cards

This week I needed to make 2 birthday cards, one for my brother and another for a good friend.  I made these trifold cards along similar lines to suit the purpose.

My brother is into watersports so I have used the sailing boat from the "Seaworthy" set and for the other card I used the clock from "Sense of Time".
